Fighting against all odds, Team India successfully retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Australia soil after thrashing Tim Paine-led side in the fourth and final Test by three wickets at the Gabba. The visitors suffered one of the most embarrassing defeats in the history of Indian cricket when they were bundled out for just 36 runs in the second innings of the Adelaide Test. But Ajinkya Rahane’s men showed great character and gave a tough fight to the hosts in the last three Tests.
A few days after India’s incredible triumph, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the youth of the country to draw inspiration from Rahane & Co.
During a virtual address to the students of Tezpur University, PM Modi explained the importance of how a positive mindset can help to overcome the biggest challenges of life.
“The best example is our Indian cricket team which faced so many challenges in Australia. Their success is a huge life lesson. We also need to make our mindset positive,”
The Prime Minister also took to his official Twitter handle and congratulated the team for the memorable win in Australia.
“We are all overjoyed at the success of the Indian Cricket Team in Australia. Their remarkable energy and passion were visible throughout. So was their stellar intent, remarkable grit, and determination. Congratulations to the team! Best wishes for your future endeavours,” he wrote.
