Indian startups, which together employ close to 115,000 directly, had a net addition of 30,000 people during the year, despite the slow start due to the pandemic. That’s a headcount growth of 35%.

Mumbai: Indian startups recorded a headcount growth of 35% in the past year despite the pandemic, as the pace of hiring accelerated alongside a push from investors to strengthen manpower to drive business growth.Specialist executive search firm Xpheno said 240 companies it studied showed a direct correlation between investment and new job creation. These were those that received Series A to E funding and got late-stage investment deals in 2020.
