After the release of The Last of Us: Part II, Naughty Dog, one of Sony’s most important studios, has not spoken about what their next project will be. However, it is almost certain that you have already started developing your next game. Until now there was only speculation on the subject, but details have just appeared that offer clues to the work that the study could have in development.

It is common that after the premiere of a game, the developers are already working on their next project, some can even work on multiple developments simultaneously. Naughty Dog had not offered any information on what his next step would be.

However, it didn’t take long for the first clues to emerge of what Naughty Dog’s next project could be. We say this because users discovered that studio senior concept artist Hyoung Nam shared interesting illustrations through his ArtStation account that could be related to the studio’s new project.

Naughty Dog’s New IP Could Be Medieval Fantasy

In total there are 3 illustrations with the name The Women of the North and they are very striking, as they reveal a medieval fantasy style. The most important shows a warrior in armor and sword who apparently has just defeated a ferocious dragon. Following this theme, the second presents the portrait of a woman with striking eyes and rudimentary clothing, while the third has a set that gives it the appearance of a shaman, in the right hand carries a scepter with a human skull and in the head has another skull, but of an animal.

If you still think that these are not clear clues from the next Naughty Dog project, then you should know that the artist suggested in the description that it is material from the next game from the Sony studio. “Inspiration of the new game. You know what I’m talking about … ”, commented the developer, who ended the description with a winking face, which only raised suspicions among fans of Naughty Dog’s work and which for many is a clear hint of the new project of the company. We leave you with the images of Nam below.

In case you missed it: Neil Druckmann would love to make a set of these entertainment franchises.

Sony studio could be working on more than 1 project

The above draws a lot of attention, as it means that Naughty Dog would be working on its first game in the medieval fantasy genre and would leave out realistic titles, such as Uncharted or The Last of Us, unless it is working on a separate project.

Recall that the developer mentioned that the development of the multiplayer of The Last of Us: Part II is still pending and a recent comment by Neil Druckmann, co-chair of the study, suggested that it is still standing.

In addition to this, we inform you that recently Neil Druckmann shared through Twitter that they are looking for creative staff and that they are working on “something very cool.” What is known is that Neil Druckmann could participate in the development of this new game, as he mentioned that, although he was promoted as co-president of Naughty Dog, he made it clear that he would continue to be involved in game development.

What do you think about these tracks? Would you like Naughty Dog to work on a fantasy title? Tell us in the comments.

We took advantage of the fact that we talked about Naughty Dog to tell you that another exclusive Sony studio, SIE Santa Monica Studio, could also move away from its flagship franchises, as it could be working on a new IP, which would have a science fiction theme.
